best: kristen stewart

Kristen Stewart is red-hot on the red carpet! The Twilight star (who won best female performance and best movie) shows her sexy side in a strapless, beaded Balmain mini and pointy-toed black pumps. But comfort won out in the end, as the actress ditched her stilettos for flat sneakers by the time she accepted the award for best kiss with her Eclipse costar (and real-life boyfriend!) Robert Pattinson.

best: reese witherspoon

The night's Generation Award winner, Reese Witherspoon, rocks a graphic-printed frock with a sweetheart neckline. A simple Neil Lane gold cuff and matching diamond-and-gold earrings glam up the look, with her megawatt smile providing the finishing touch.

worst: nicki minaj

Quick, someone tell Nicki Minaj that she forgot to put her shirt on! The rapper and presenter leaves little to the imagination, rocking a triple-buckled vest over a black bra. But while we definitely think Nicki should've covered up her assets, we can't help loving her fierce, glittery platforms.

best: emma watson

Style star Emma Watson is always dressed to impress -- and tonight is no exception! The Harry Potter actress (who was up for best female performance) shows off her killer legs in a super-short white Marchesa dress, and the embellished neckline draws attention up to her pretty face.

best: blake lively

There's no shortage of color in Blake Lively's eye-popping ensemble! The presenter commands attention in a curve-hugging, electric-blue Michael Kors dress and her purple suede platforms offer the perfect contrast.

worst: hailee steinfeld

True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld's hair and makeup looks stunning, but her conservative LV black suit falls a bit short. We'd love to see a more fun, youthful look from the 14-year-old star. Afterall, this is MTV -- not CNN!

best: emma stone

Easy A star Emma Stone, who took home the popcorn for best comedic performance, brings romance to the red carpet in a sheer, lace Bottega Veneta frock with flirty fringe accents -- and her copper satin pumps perfectly match her fiery new locks!

worst: justin bieber

Justin Bieber wasn't even around when Miami Vice was popular -- but his outfit certainly was! The teen king, who won the award for best jaw-dropping moment for his movie Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, sports white pants, a bright-blue blazer and an excessive amount of beaded jewelry. Plus, we still can't get on board with those stud earrings!

best: cameron diaz

Who wears short shorts? Bad Teacher star and presenter Cameron Diaz highlights her bronzed stems in a sexy black romper and lets her beachy blonde waves hang loose.

best: selena gomez

Presenter Selena Gomez looks easy and breezy in her textured, a-line skirt with a blousy, embroidered top -- and her flowing, relaxed curls perfectly complement the warm-weather, Giambattista Valli look.

worst: jessica szohr

We love that Gossip Girl star Jessica Szohr isn't afraid of a fashion risk. We're just not sure this '70s-inspired jumpsuit is the right choice for the red carpet. She could have at least hemmed the pants a bit so we could get a glimpse at her shoes!

best: bryce dallas howard

Eclipse star Bryce Dallas Howard -- who won the award for best fight with costars Robert Pattinson and Xavier Samuel -- defines elegant maternity style. The mom-to-be shows off her baby bump in a flowing maxi dress, and the hot-pink panel offers a fun contrast to her curly maroon locks.

worst: nikki reed & paul mcdonald

Twilight star Nikki Reed and former American Idol contestant Paul McDonald's new romance is sizzling hot. Unfortunately, the newly engaged couple's adventurous style is only luke warm. Paul's signature quirky duds aren't exactly red-carpet worthy, and Nikki desperately needs the bottom half of her dress back. Fortunately, her sparkly new engagement ring holds most of the attention!

best: leighton meester

Leighton Meester shines (literally!) in a reflective, long-sleeved sheath. The Roommate star, who was up for best movie villain, keeps her ombre strands loose and sexy and lets her show-stopping dress hold the spotlight.

best: rosie huntington-whiteley

Meow! Presenter Rosie Huntington-Whitely, who stars in the upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon, channels her inner animal in this ferocious, tiger-print Dolce & Gabbana frock.

worst: amanda bynes 

Last summer Amanda Bynes said she was ready to retire from acting -- and we're thinking maybe her stylist should retire, too! With her too-tight dress and bold, look-at-me heels, the Easy A actress (who was up for best line from a movie) just looks like she's trying too hard.

kayla ewell 

Kayla Ewell looked summer fab in a cute dress with what looked like red and silver sequins and added very summery wedges to complete the look. Maybe not a great look for the red carpet but definitely a great summer do!

The 22-year-old Vampire Diaries actress wore a Georges Chakra Couture ruby and bronze bow embroidered strapless dress.

 The young actress wore a black and white Ina Soltani dress to this year's MTV Movie Awards. She accessorized with blue Steve Madden heels and a Judith Lieber bag.

Amber Lancaster  showed up in a sparkly three-quarter sleeved multi-striped mini dress.

Shay looked great wearing an embellished dress by Ines Di Santo styled with metallic gold peep toe sling back pumps. Shay also wore gold and sterling silver diamond earrings and a gold and diamond knot bracelet both by Vahan.

aly michalka

The diva teamed her chic updo with a peach draped dress by Ramy Brook. Alyson Michalka finished off her look with flashy gold strappy sandals. She toted up a striking gold clutch and looked eye-popping.

Beth Littleford

Beth showed up in what looked like a thrift store dress and stockings from your local super market. Everything was so drab including the shoes! Where is the color?!?!

Andrew Garfield

Andrew Garfield's buttons are really what we are here to talk about. The Social Networkstar has been charming us left and right with his sweet geeky looks and affable, self-deprecating charm, but then he steps out adorned with these perfectly tarnished little cherries on top of an already adorable maritime ensemble and kills us. Oh, AND yes, he wore navy blue and black and successfully because THIS is how your dress pants should fit. He wore Dior jeans and a Band of Outsiders blazer.

This leggy lass looked pretty boring in high waisted leather shorts and fringed tee & shawl? I'm confused.

 Robinson looked amazing in her sequined gold and peach mini dress. However she went too matchy-match with the accessories.

Chris Evans

Chris played it cool in a tan/brown jacket with dark denims and a basic white tee accessorised with shades.

Ryan Reynolds

Ryan made female fans skip a heartbeat in this casual laid-back style of a shirt and a button down cardigan.

Ashley Bell

Actress Ashley Bell was a delicate beauty in an embroidered knee-length cocktail dress. She styled her look with Giuseppe Zanotti satin ankle strap pumps and a loose updo pinned at the nape of her neck.

Lenay Dunn

Lenay portrayed an angelic vision in a sparkly bodice and a pleated soft ivory gown.

Elizabeth Reaser

Elizabeth wore a short sleeved V neck patterned sparkly black dress.

Tom Felton

This hottie channeled the 'sailor boy' look in a navy blazer and pants with a white striped shirt.

Ashley Benson

Young Ashley Benson from the fairly addicting "Pretty Little Liars" rocked a Matthew Williamson with sequin embellishments in a warm copper, showing that metallics can be done without getting all shiny.

 Lil' Mama, who looked like she played "Katamari" in dark crystals with some bangin' accessories, took the shiny shard trend to the edgy extreme in a black encrusted strapless by Sherri Hill . 

Tinsel Korey 

Tinsel Korey didn't do sleek black or yellow-gold to turn heads, but the "Twilight" star looked effortless (also, the wind-swept, wolf girl-like hair) in a one-shouldered Badgley Mischka frock. The white-gold was fancy, but not distracting, keeping the focus on Korey's natural beauty.

One of the most-talked about ladies of the night was Brooklyn Decker—and not just because host Jason Sudeikis composed a song about her breasts—because she took the gold glitter trend most literally. She looks literally radiant as a gal with the golden touch in a No.21 dress. Her warm blonde hair added a pleasant California gal touch to her outfit, but the long sleeves ensured BK looked grounded and balanced, not just all gold and legs for miles.

Holland Roden

Holland Roden got all glammed up for the MTV bash in a sequined mini dress with a dramatic train by Tony Ward Couture. The look may have been a little over-the-top for the event, but Holland certainly made a statement!

Chelsey Handler

Funny woman Chelsey wore this shirred and cowl-necked intentionally wrinkled Lanvin dress that failed to impress.

I'm not crazy about the boots and the dress doesn’t fit as well as it should, but major props to her for showing some out-of-the-box style on the red carpet. She looks adorable.

Aimee Teegarden wore a pretty, pleasantly colorful, well draped Alice + Olivia dress.
