Peek-a-boo!

Just a couple of days I came across a 'How to wear an exposed bra' post. Now I'm all for experimenting, however, I know that the exposed bra trend may not go down very well with most people. I mean it is literally putting on a small part of your intimates for display, isn't it? But it doesn't have to be. Let's not be prudish for a while, and try it.

Anyways, I almost forgot about the post, until yesterday, while I was at Super Saturday, I found this pretty dress with a wide 'V' overlap cut. While I was making up my mind, with what to take and what to discard, I suddenly thought of the post again, while I was holding the dress very close to my 'discard pile'. My mum looked at it and told me it was too deep for me to wear and she encouraged me to chuck it in the pile. But the more I looked at it, the more I wanted it. Reverse psychology at it best, right?

So I promised my mum, I would either pin up the front or wear some sort of tube/camisole inside, and I picked it up.
Another two reasons why I really like the dress was because, 1- It had a grey version of the galaxy print, and is not very 'in your face' as the others can tend to be.
2 - It had a high waist elastic, that I know, suits me well and makes my legs look longer than they actually are.

So I had this maroon-ish coloured bra, that's been in my closet for a while now, so long, that I don't remember from where I got it, or who got it for me. I think it was either my aunt or dad. Up close, it looks very dainty and vintage-like and is really really pretty.

Of course there was a reason I chose this colour and not black, because the whole focal point of the look was the bra. Also I kept my neck bare (as suggested in Jenni's post - look 3), and added a watch that almost matched the bra. And lastly, I finished off with another Super Saturday buy - the pretty dark teal studded bag.

I do realise this is the most I've rambled about, for any outfit post! So moving on to the result!

My exposed bra tips

  • Less is more. Less accessories is the way to go, always. Also less cleavage please!
  • Push ups are a complete no-no! Unless that's the look you are opting for *I won't judge*
  • The bra doesn't always have to be lacy. It can variate from a sporty bra, to a regular tee shirt one with a cute trim.
  • Know your audience. There has to be a time and place to wear this.
  • Lastly, don't over think it! If it doesn't feel right, maybe it isn't. Trust your gut instincts, and listen to the opinions of close friends.

Pops of colour

So on one of my crazy shopping trips (work related) I  came across these bright coloured trousers at Marks & Spencer in the sale section, or in the 'buy two for the price of one' section, to be more specific. I was in love instantly.
While they had a number of pretty blazers as well, none were in my size, and the only one that was (a cute powder blue piece) had a very prominent pen mark on the sleeve *yikes*

After looking at these pictures, I do realize the trousers need to be altered. They feel a bit loose on the waist as well..

Roberto Cavalli inspired shoes - DIY

My first official DIY on the blog!

From the moment I saw these Roberto Cavalli snake skins with the neon accents, I was hooked!
Roberto Cavalli | Neon-trimmed python sandals | NET-A-PORTER.COM
And soon after getting hooked, I was getting ready to go out once, and, I discovered I had faux snake skin shoes too! The funny part is, my aunt got them for me, while I was shooting in Gujarat, and everybody forgot to tell me. So I discovered them on my own. It's like finding money in your pocket, but even better, since its shoes!!

Since my shoes have this teal-ish tint at places, I thought  of staying away from neon, and hence I decided to go for purple instead. However my first choice was a sea green..

So all I actually used is the acrylic paint and a brush.
You can also use nail paint.
And I started to paint along the stitch lines..
Once I finished a coat, I went back and checked which other places needed 'touching up'
Off course I did alternate between both shoes, giving them each 4-5 minutes to dry.
I also decided to make the front part a little thicker than the rest.
And after adding the final touches..

I know the color is clashing with my table!!
And yes I did go overboard with the pictures! There are about 96 pictures only of the shoes. They were a pleasure to work with!

Gorgeous Flats

As much as we would all love to rock those 5 inch (or even 6) stilettos, our feet need a lot of love & care. Torturing your feet in high heels is not advisable. Sometimes its good to give your feet, which I must say are the most hard-working parts in everyone's body, a little bit of rest.

No you don't have to stop walking, but wear comfortable shoes so that your feet don't suffer!

Here are some gorgeous alternatives to sink your feet into..

But remember, flats might not always help. Its always good to keep shoes with different heels, each that come with their own pros and cons.

For example, wearing entirely flat shoes are not very good either.

Make sure your flats have good support, so that there is no stress on your heels, while you walk. I have always experienced this horrible pain right at my heels when I wear flats for more than 8-9 hours.

Its also been proven that flats can strain the achilles tendon that runs from the back of the heel, and also the calf muscles in the back of the leg!

Flip flops are also considered one of the worst as there is no support whatsoever.

So hence, when you buy your next pair of flats, try and settle for a little cushioning at the heel and do not wear them for long hours.
On days when you get feet pain, soak them in warm water for a while.
It's absolutely okay if your flats have a tiny built in hidden wedge heel.
And finally, alternate between your shoes. One day wear high heels, another day, wear some flats and the other a nice pair of wedges.

Sometimes functionality is way better than fashion. Just sometimes!

Tom Ford Spring 2012 Footwear

His name is synonymous with luxury. His brand is synonymous with seduction. His footwear is definitely both. The Spring/Summer 2012 collection from Tom Ford, catches the eye, excites the heart, and seduces the mind; with it’s erotic sculptural designs and rich materials of velvet ribbons edged with gold, gold chain detailing, satin, tortoiseshell soles and reptile leather.

The curve of the wedges may make you believe that it may be extremely difficult to walk in them however, if you look beyond the optical illusion, you will notice that the point at the end is at the same place as on any heel.
